Surf Life Saving clinic brings elite athletes to the region

SURF LIFE SAVING



SURF lifesaving and pool clinics are being held tomorrow at Ellis Beach SLSC starting at 2:30pm and on Sunday at 10:00am TAS Aquatic Centre respectively.

Melinda Jackson, a senior coach from Northcliffe SLSC, and one of the coaches on the highly successful QLD Cyclone team that competed at the Worlds, will be attending and will be bringing along three elite athletes.

The athletes are Brielle Cooper, a Nutri Grain Iron woman finalist and a member of the Queensland Cyclone team; Toby Wilson, who won gold medals at the 2016 National Open 2K swim and at the World Youth Lifesaving Championships; and Emma Jackson, who won a Gold medal at the National Pool Rescue Championships and a record holder.       

This weekend is the start of the season for the Port Douglas Surf Life Saving Club with the first Nipper training this Sunday from 9 - 11am.
