Young Crocs improving every week

JUNIOR FOOTY

ROUND four was played at the Croc pit to catch up on the missed round when Cyclone Debbie approached Queensland.

After five games and 10 weeks of training we are starting to notice a great improvement in the Junior Crocs skills. Those who had the pleasure to watch the Under 6 Sunny’s Superstars witnessed the players excitement and infectious radiant smiles at achieving their first mark, taking their first kick or handball, and getting their first Maccas award. Those 40 minutes highlighted the beauty of exactly what our great game of AFL is about! It was hard not to walk away with a smile seeing the young ones have so much fun.

UNDER 6

Sunny’s Superstars v Central Bulldogs:

In the highlight of round new crocs Addison, Beau, Jobe, Lolla and Skye played their first full game of AFL. To make their transition to the big time easier Under 8’s Ethan, Kirra, Harrison and Kane played alongside and taught the superstars how to work the zones, share the ball around and kick goals. Skye was on the receiving end of a magic handpass from Harrison and kicked her first ever game day goal. Mark of the day went to Jobe who managed to find the ball with the back of his head. Addy handballed a goal and Lolla and Beau had plenty of kicks. Well done to Saige and Raife who wore a Bulldogs jumper for the game.

UNDER 8
Crocs Navy v Central Bulldogs Blue:
The boys got off to a fine start against Centrals Blue at the Croc Pit with Parker, Finn and Quade dominating in the centre. Captain of the day Ethan finished off their hard work with three 1st quarter goals. Marcus and Angus tried hard all game and continue to improve, Harper got plenty of the ball and Kai kicked an impressive last quarter goal. Thanks to all the parents who helped out, it is very much appreciated.
Goal kickers: Ethan, Parker, Finn, Harper and Kai.
Award winners: Kai, Angus, Marcus and Ethan.

Crocs White v Central Bulldogs Red:
The crocs met a well drilled Bulldogs side who managed to find each other in space consistently. The game was played mostly in defence where Saige was outstanding. Cadel had plenty of kicks and Kane continues to improve with basketball like defensive skills. Satchin attacked the ball with intent and for the second week in a row Kirra had 2 shots at goal that were intercepted on the line. Raife kicked his 1st goal for the year and 2016 best defender Oscar kicked another to show his worth as a forward in 2017.
Goal kickers – Raife and Oscar

Players of the week:  Kane, Saige, Raife, Oscar and Cadel

UNDER 9
Crocs v Central Bulldogs:

The under 9's had a bye due to the Centrals not being able to field a side for the long weekend. However the under 9's were not going to miss their opportunity to play at home. Finn, Arlo Jones, Cooper Knack, Parker and Arlo Miller from under 8's were keen to help make up the numbers. All the boys got plenty of the footy as they continued to run and compete throughout the game. Michael as always displayed excellent skills, Harry provided plenty of dash and Cooper G kicked a bag of goals. Big thanks to all the parents who helped out on the day.. Well done boys, go the Crocs.
Goal Kickers: Joe, Matthew, Finn and Cooper G
Players of the week: Joe and Harry

UNDER 11
Crocs v Central Bulldogs:

Under 11's battled it out against Trinity Beach on Sunday morning. The boys fought hard but it wasnt enough to be victors. There were a few standouts that had a terrific game. Thero Boyds nice run forward covering great ground was a highlight. Tristan Pottle was man of the match. Locka and Cody earned their medallions. With the Daintree giant Solomon Sere and partner in crime Eric snapping up the Frozen Yogurt vouchers.

UNDER 17

Crocs Colts v’s Cairns Hawks:

Despite the loss this week the crocs worked harder as a team compared to the previous game. Every player performed well and tried their best. The hard nuts Fraser, Ryan, Ben and Angus were a powerful force at centre bounces. Max, Brayden, Harry, Noah and Rex contributed all night and played disciplined footy. Chaz and Jake helped out immensely. A bit more care with the entries into the forward 50 and the result could’ve been different. We were beaten by a better team on the night but certainly not disgraced. Hold your heads up and keep up the effort. Well Done!

Crocs 2. 4 (16) lost to Hawks 6.11 (47)
Goal Kickers – Brayden and Fraser
Player of the week – Ryan Doble
