TOURISM

ISSUE 22 of PORT DOUGLAS Magazine has arrived.

In the Autumn/Winter edition, which this week hit the streets, you can discover everything from the insightful, the magnificence of photography, an array of dining and resort offerings, historical perspectives, to a pioneering force in marine biology who has developed her own fashion line.

With a print circulation of more than 20,000 and an additional 15,000 people reached on line, Editor Sarah Cullen says the success of the magazine can be contributed to its content and design-led focus from a team of talented contributors and advertisers, all of whom are focused on reader engagement.

“We want our readers to know what’s happening in Port Douglas; how they can best enjoy their time; learn about the history of the region; the captains of industry who make our economy tick, all whilst slipping into the holiday mode that is the Port Douglas way of life."

Wendy Morris, a leading figure in tourism and entrepreneur, is a key feature of this edition and her story articulates her links to conservation, a passion for the Great Barrier Reef, and her own fashion line identified by the appropriate business name of Reef Society.

“Wendy is a pioneering force in marine biology in Port Douglas, conservation, tourism and a great advocate for reef awareness,” Ms Cullen said.

"Whilst educating, she encourages us all to tread lightly and has even developed her own fashion line to embrace her philosophy”

Ms Cullen says she is delighted to feature the imagery of photographer Reuben Nutt, whose spectacular work should inspire people to hit the outdoors and explore this fabulous region. Based in Brisbane, Nutt grew up in Port Douglas and his family still live here.

The regular ‘What’s On’ feature highlights events such as the Quicksilver Port Douglas Race Week (May 16-20), Port Douglas Carnivale (May 26-28), the season launch of Moonlight Cinema (June 15) and other exciting events on the radar.

Visitors to region will quickly learn that the PORT DOUGLAS magazine is the ideal partner for where to shop, eat and drink, tour, relax and much more.
