The Captain Cook Highway was blocked this morning after a white Nissan ended up on its roof in the ocean. The teenage driver, miraculously, escaped uninjured.

It was one of two crashes this morning after rain made driving conditions difficult south of Port Douglas.

Police and emergency services were kept busy, and investigations are now underway into both incidents. The road remains clear.
