‘Plug’ salutes at Mossman Golf Club on a count-back

MOSSMAN Golf Club’s Tuesday event sponsored by the Court House Hotel was won by Robert “Plug” Young with 38 points on a count-back to Bruce Cheesman and in 3rd place Bernie Boon 35 on a count-back to Bill Allison.

Wednesday’s nine hole stableford event was won by Rod Donovan with 22 points ahead of Peter Titus-Reese 21. NTP’s – John Cameron and Ron Laybutt.
The Ladies Thursday event was won by Lucy Giles with 37 points ahead of Bette Wells 36, and in 3rd place Liz Green 35 on a count-back to Rachael Byrne.

The very popular Friday nine hole Mossman Butchering Steak Bash was won by Peter Mckeown with 23 points ahead of Matty Smith 21.

The Presentation of Championship trophies was held on Friday night, with Club Champion Wayne Christensen travelling from Emerald for the event. Club Person of the Year was awarded to Alec Ford.

On Saturday the Men’s event was won by Warren Bishop with 40 points on a count-back to Steve Leak and in 3rd place Bill Allison 39 on a count-back to Bret Deuble.

The Ladies event was won by Pris Freeman with 36 points ahead of Glenda Christensen 34.

On Sunday, Mossman hosted the fourth round of the FNQGA Pennant with 120 players enjoying perfect conditions, with wins to Mossman in A Grade, B Grade and C Grade.
