Community digs deep to help Paws and Claws raise over $3200

ANIMAL SHELTER

THE Paws and Claws Father’s Day raffle raised over $3200 on Sunday in a massive boost for the struggling animal shelter.

With the recent closure at its Craiglie site leaving many despondent, the community got behind the refuge and took advantage of the chance to win some fantastic prizes.

“The result was fantastic and we raised a massive $3291,” said Anne Ireland from Paws and Claws.

“We would like to thank all our sponsors and everyone who bought a ticket, their help and support is priceless. It’s a wonderful example of the heart there is in this small community coming together to support our work with homeless animals. This money will go a long way in helping pay vets bills.”

Sydney’s Stuart King won the Pickled in Port Hamper which he donated back to the animal shelter.

“I bought the ticket as a donation because as I was impressed with the work of Paws & Claws, they’re a voice for the animals,” King said.

Jenny Davis of Melbourne also donated her $50 Seabean voucher back to the shelter.
