A problem Crocodile has been captured and removed from Ferndale Lake at Warri Park.
A floating trap has been placed in the lake since May 23 after a crocodile attacked and killed a Labrador, owned by local resident Jan Churchill.
Rangers from the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection removed the crocodile, estimated to be 3.1 metres in length, at 11am on Sunday.
Residents at the nearby lake reported the croc being ‘very crafty’ since the trap was deployed, often swimming over to the cage in the morning before looping around and swimming back to the bank.

“It was like it knew what the trap was, and was just teasing everybody,” one nearby resident said, who wanted to remain anonymous.
“I think it’s a shame it had to be removed, it’s hard to blame the croc for doing what comes naturally to it.”
Opinion has been divided on whether the crocodile should be removed, but a recent Newsport poll revealed over 61 per cent of voters thought it was the right decision.
The reptile will be taken to a crocodile farm.
