With over 300 students, Bodies in Motion or BIM is now one of Douglas' largest clubs. And the performances enjoyed by hundreds of parents last Sunday is testament to why.

Over 60 routines were performed by the students encompassing ballet, hiphop, contemporary, jazz, tap and musical theatre.

Some students also taking on the extra curriculum solo performances.

The showcase was held at Saint Augustines Primary School in Mossman where students showcased the spoils of their first 6 months of classes.

Now students move on to new routines that will culminate in the end of year performances to be held on Dec 2 & 3 this year.

BIM owner Saskia Turner was thrilled at the mid year efforts saying her students should be very proud of themselves and the commitment it takes to get up on stage and perform in front of audience.

“It inspires me to see the kids spirits when they are on stage. Dance is such a beautiful art form and I am so lucky to be able to share my passion with so many people.”

All ages participated with BIM offering classes from as young as 2 years old right up to adult classes. In fact the adult performance, with some members over 70, stole a little bit of the show with their tap performance to Queen's anthem We Will Rock You.

Saskia and her team put every bit of effort into the show creating a slick overall performance.

A special needs performance also brought the house down as they danced to Grease's epic song Grease Lightning.

The day also acts as a fund raiser for the end of year production which is touted as the event of the year.

"I would like to thank all who helped us set up, pack down, volunteer or donated goods on the day. An event like this just simply cannot happen without the support of our families and the local community."

"We look forward to bringing the house down once again at our end of year production in December."
