THE latest edition to the Port Douglas charter fleet sailed into town last night in impressive fashion.
The Indigo 2, a massive 44’ Fountaine Pajot cruising catamaran, arrived from Sydney which included a nine-week stop on the Gold Coast to put her into survey.
Indigo skipper and business owner Colin Simpson said the yacht was the youngest of all charter boats in Port Douglas and would continue to offer a more personalised sailing experience than other options in town.
“We only take out 12 people at an absolute maximum, so it’s a big boat for that many people,” Simpson said.
“While substantially larger than Indigo 1, we are sticking to our 12 guests maximum because it just means there is loads of room for all on board, and that’s one of our main objectives.
“We will also be offering private charters and overnight charters, the boat is now equipped with everything you would ever need, has latest safety technology so it’s also one of the safest boats.”
Indigo 2 will initially offer the only two-hour sunset tour in Port Douglas, along with its Low Isles snorkel trips.
The overnight and extended charters, available later in the year, will see accommodation available for four guests in two queen cabins, each with en-suite. It's is fully air-conditioned and the cockpit, which seats 12, can be fully sealed from inclement weather.
* Indigo Port Douglas will be offering an exclusive special for Newsport readers next week.
