UPDATE: A MAN accused of stabbing two people at a property near Mossman has been granted bail.

Whyanbeel man Storm Woods, 21, appeared at the Cairns Magistrates Court this afternoon where he was charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm.

Magistrate Sandra Pearson granted bail but said the accused must live in Cairns and have no contact with the two alleged victims or a third man, believed to be a witness.

The court was told Mr Woods intends to defend the charges against him.

Mr Woods was eventially arrested after he drove his pregnant girlfriend, believed to have been injured by another person during the dispute at the Whyanbeel property, to the Cairns Hospital.

"He was located in the early hours of this morning at Cairns Base Hospital," Cairns Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brad McLeish told a press conference this morning.

"The alleged offender and his girlfriend have driven from Mossman down to Cairns and she has been taken to hospital because she was injured and heavily pregnant but she has since been released from hospital and she and the baby are fine.

"There was alcohol involved but no drugs that we were aware of at this stage."

It will be alleged a 25-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were stabbed during a disturbance at the Kahana Road property shortly after 9pm.

The man suffered stab wounds to his abdomen and chest and the woman was treated for a stab wound to her chest. Both were airlifted to Cairns Base Hospital with serious injuries.
