Douglas digs deep in cross country championships

THE Douglas District cross country representatives battled it out against Far North Queensland’s finest last week at the Peninsula Cross Country Championships in Cairns.
The championships were held at the challenging White Rock course in fields over over 40 children per race, for both the boy and girl ages.
Port Douglas State School regional sports coordinator Deanne Hoye said all the representatives dug deep and did themselves proud against their contemporaries in wet conditions.
“Congratulations to all the kids and the parents from over 30 districts who sidelined the start and finishing chutes barracking their children home,” Hoye said.
