Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree is calling for budding and professional film makers and photographers to take part in its latest consumer campaign - Show Me Your Paradise.

With a prize pool of $4250 up for grabs, Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree (TPDD) executive officer Tara Bennett said the campaign could be just what a videographer or photographer needed to kick-start their career in the travel industry.

“We want standout images that make the most of the incredible scenery, lifestyle and experiences around Port Douglas, Mossman, Cape Tribulation and Daintree and we want to share them with potential visitors,” she said.“Show Me Your Paradise is about the person submitting the entry showing us their paradise - the paradise they love and the paradise they want to show the world.”

“The campaign will drive growth in the number of visitors to TPDD’s website and Facebook page as well as giving us exciting new images and video to entice visitors to our region.”

Ms Bennett said the prizes included $2500 for the winning video, $1000 for the winning photographer and $250 for each photography category.

Videographers need to put together a 30 second clip that features what they love about their paradise. It must include one or more themes of: Village life, hidden gems, Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, outdoor adventure, Indigenous culture, beaches, nature and wildlife, or food, wine and lifestyle.

Photographers can submit up to three images that capture their paradise in the categories of adventure, romance and family. The overall winning image may become the cover of Discover Paradise with more than 190,000 copies delivered throughout Australia and New Zealand.

It is really simple to enter, just complete the online entry form and submit a link to your video or high-res images. All entries will be reviewed by a selection panel, including last year’s video winner and owner of Catseye Productions Alison George, before the winner is announced on April 15, 2015.
