Did you know there are 1370 businesses registered in the Douglas Shire? Were you aware the Douglas Shire’s Gross Regional Product totalled $650 million in 2014?
Douglas Shire Council is encouraging local businesses to take advantage of the free resources available to them on Council’s website to maximise their opportunities, including the economy.id tool.
Mayor Julia Leu said economy.id provides local businesses with valuable insights into the Douglas Shire’s economic indicators to help businesses plan for the future.
“At the click of a mouse businesses can access the economic profile of the Douglas Shire, identify trends and analyse datasets relevant to their business,” Mayor Leu said.
“Council has invested in this strategic business tool so local businesses can be as informed as possible about our local economy and factor this information into their planning decisions.
“There are a number of other helpful resources for businesses available on Council’s website including the Missed Business guide and the Access Douglas Directory which have a wealth of information about how local businesses may be able to make adjustments to improve their bottom line.
“All of these resources and more can be accessed for free in the Business section of Council’s website and I encourage all local businesses to take a look and see what is available for them as there is plenty of great information relevant to our local business community at their fingertips.
“Council wants to build on the momentum of the recent hugely successful inaugural Douglas Business Forum and support local businesses where we can, which includes the launch of the Business Investment Fund.”
