Port Douglas ranks high for potential overseas property investors

There has been a surge in online viewings of Australian properties for sale from potential overseas buyers from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa and Port Douglas comes in at tenth.

According to Century 21 Australasia chairman and owner Charles Tarbey, his organisation’s global website reports traffic from Russia was up the most, 252 per cent, stating it was clear that developing nations were becoming increasingly interested in Australian property.

It is reported that Port Douglas was the tenth most viewed Australian suburb for potential overseas buyers.

It is believed that it is the Australian climate and culture that has attributed to this surge making it a prominent place for overseas buyers to invest in. And, according to Mr Tarbey, from an economic perspective, Australia is the safest country to invest in also.

It was reported that the most viewed Australian suburbs were:

1. Maroochydore, QLD
2. Sunshine Beach, QLD
3. Redcliffe, QLD
4. Broadbeach, QLD
5. St Ives, NSW
6. Sydney, NSW
7. Aldinga Beach, SA
8. Scarborough, QLD
9. Killara, NSW
10. Port Douglas, QLD
