Following further allegations from women claiming the Member for Cook Billy Gordon allegedly sent them explicit photos of himself, has the MP caught up in a “sexting scandal.”

Members of government and the community are up in arms as to whether he should leave of his volition, while the allegations are being investigated by police.

Mr Gordon released a statement saying he is more determined to continue work.

“Over the last few days, certain statements have been made about me. I always believed that personal exchanges between me and other parties were private and consensual.

“I am determined to continue to represent the constituents of Cook, and better the lives of indigenous people in my electorate.

“This is the only statement I will make on these matters.”

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the revelations that have been aired concerning Mr Gordon deserve investigation by police.

While Mr Gordon is not a member of the State Labour Caucus, as a cross bencher he holds a crucial vote in the hung Queensland parliament, which along with the two Katter MPs and Peter Wellington, can mean the difference between a vote passing or not.

After being forced on to the cross bench ahead of his expulsion from the labour party for dishonesty, following allegations of domestic violence which police concluded with no charges due to insufficient evidence, together with an undeclared criminal history, this latest scandal finds Mr Gordon the focus of yet another police investigation.

Federal Member for Leichhardt Warren Entsch did not hold back telling Newsport of his recent statement to the press saying that "if it happened to my daughter he would be wearing his privates around his neck, he can go to hell.”

It is reported that Mr Gordon has spoken to close allies but no-one else on the matter.
