A NIDA graduate, Marney McQueen is Australia’s Queen of comedic character cabaret and hits the Clink Theatre stage on Saturday 3 October.

The diversity of her performance is incredible. Not only is she hilariously funny, she is a powerhouse actress with an outstanding voice which has been well showcased in her leading roles in musical theatre as ‘Marion’ in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, ‘Velma Von Tussle’ in Hairspray and the evil ‘Princess Zena’ in Cat Stevens’ Moonshadow.

Marney’s quick wit and audience interactions are world class. She tailors her material to suit each new group or town she is playing in and is meticulously researched. Her characters include the hilarious Border Security Officer Karen Barnes, Raelene Dreggs (mother of Sharna Dreggs, incarcerated in Denpasaar), Gym junkie Damo Greggson, Carbon Neutral Bride Annabel Sarah Victoria Winters-Smythe and bikini waxer to the stars, Rosa Waxoffski the Russian Beautician.

Marney has performed to sell-out crowds and rave reviews across the world in her multi-character cabaret shows. Her debut show “Rosa Waxes Lyrical” was voted in the Age Top 5 shows of the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Marney also appeared in the sketch comedy television series,The Wedge, with good friend Rebel Wilson. Marney is currently the voice of ABC2 and Dimmeys. She appeared in the feature film Matching Jack and also starred as Deborah Jones in the feature film The Mule.

She is a meticulous and highly engaging MC and works frequently as a voice over artist for radio and television. She regularly performs her solo comedy cabaret show at theatres and at fundraising events for charities and clubs.

Her chameleon-like acting talents, detailed observations, quick wit and powerhouse vocals are world class. A stand up comedian, character actress and songstress, she can do it all and she is also really good at cheating in Monopoly.

Marney is currently touring her new comedy cabaret Hair To The Throne, which debuted in April at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
