The inaugural foodie event kicks off tonight with a stella cast of five celebrity chefs creating magic at five of our local restaurants.

Adrian Richardson, also known as the quiet achiever, will be serving up clean, fresh innovative food at Harrisons. Ben Odonoghue believes food should be simple and distinctive, technically and culturally correct and will be cooking up a storm at Salsa Bar & Grill.

MKR favourite Colin Fassnidge creates foodie destinations and his unique style will be demonstrated tonight at Watergate.  Massimo Mele’s love of Italian street food focuses on the regions of Italy and tutti a tavola (all at the table) will be at Sassi Cucina E Bar this evening. Ian Curley is know as the quintessential chef maintaining a traditional approach to cooking which he will be showcasing at Nu Nu in Cairns.

Saturday and Sunday the sell out Master Classes at 2Fish will let you get up close and personal with two well known celebrity chefs.  On Saturday the much loved chef Alastair McLeod and Sunday one of Australia’s most celebrated chefs Philip Johnson of e’cco bistro in Brisbane.

Immerse yourself in a food and cultural experience that is authentic and unique with two Food Experience Tours.  Saturday Kuku Yalanji Cultural Food Tour and Sunday Julatten Earth Foods Farm Tour.

Saturday and Sunday in Rex Smeal Park the 2015 Status Plus Main Stage you will have the opportunity to join 16 Taste Port Douglas chefs in the Status Plus cooking marquee.  All demos are 30 minutes and free to watch.

Saturday evening the Harry Hawker Street Food Party in Rex Smeal Park offers guest chef run food stalls and live music. From 6pm watch Ben Williamson, Warren Turnbull, Cameron Matthews, Daniel Wilson and Adam D’Sylva cooking up delicacies to tantalise your taste buds.

Taste Port Douglas will showcase our unique and diverse locally grown produce as well as celebrating our producers, with awarding winning chefs in some of our amazing restaurants.

There is bound to be something for every dedicated foodie to enjoy and see in a full weekend of chef entertainment.
