Final preparations are underway for Port Douglas’s most iconic festival event. 

Carnivale 2015 is scheduled to be bigger and better than ever, featuring fireworks, street parades, celebrations of food and drink and fun family events.

Favourites from last year such as the Yabusame Japanese horse archers will be joined by medieval jousting on Four Mile Beach, motorised esky races and standup paddleboard rides in Port Douglas’s pristine blue waters.

One super-sized edition to Carnivale 2015’s street parade will be a gigantic luxury stretch Hummer, operated by Rory Murphy from Hummers and Harleys. 

Four lucky couple can enter the Carnivale competition to win seats in the Hummer as it takes part in the street parade.

Carnivale President Roy Weavers said winners of the competition would be able to emerge from the top hatch of the Hummer and ‘wave down at their minions’ during the parade.

“It’s an excellent opportunity to be part of the Carnivale Street Parade,” Mr Weavers said.

Entries close on Monday, May 18. 

The stretch Hummer is 11 metres long and can take 16 passengers in the opulent rear lounge seats. 

It is outfitted with three bars serving complimentary champagne, soft drink, water and beer.

Rear-wheel steering helps the Hummer’s huge frame navigate tight corners. 

An hour ride in the Hummer normally costs around $600 but winners of the competition will get a ride free, complete with drinks.

Rory also announced a special 'Carnivale Mystery Tour' where guests will get 2 1/2 hour tour for just $39 each. "This is usually priced around $1,500 so we highly recommented locals and tourist take full advantage of our great partnership with Carnivale."

Carnivale runs May 22-31.
