Port Douglas loses Internet
Port Douglas loses Internet
Friday October 3 2014, 10:00am
If you can read this, congratulations - Internet users in Port Douglas have lost their ADSL connection due to an as-yet-unidentified issue from as early as 7:30 this morning.
Businesses throughout the Port Douglas CBD have gone offline, but the Douglas Shire Council office in Mossman still has a connection.
Mobile 3G and 4G reception also appears to be unaffected (mobile hotspotting through an iPhone made the publishing of this story possible).
There is currently no word from internet service providers on what has caused the connection loss or how long until it may be back.
If you are in the Port Douglas area and still have a functioning Internet connection, please call the Newsport on 40995122.
The Newsport will bring updates on this story as it progresses.
Until then, it's back to the Stone Age.
