Douglas Netball started last Tuesday's competition with the 10/U at 4pm.

Court 1 played the Young Stars against the Little Saints, the Stars have gelled well as a team, the Saints kept the pressure on but couldnt get the score on the board the Stars won 2-nil with best players Sophia Cullen, Layla Kerswell and Hazel Kitto.

On court  2 the Young Comets played a thriller against Pink Lightening - it was neck and neck for 4 quarters with Lightening taking the game 4-3, with best players Lani Dickson, Michela Nesbitt and Mercedes Ramsay. 

The 12/u comp played Fast Motion and the Young Sapphires, Fast Motion were short on players but played with great enthusiasm.

The Sapphires took the win 20 nil, with best players Jordan Hunt, Sophee Watson and Charlotte Kilpatrick.

The Young Gems played the Pythons, the Pythons played great team netball, the Gems rallied and out shot the Pythons in the last quarter, great effort girls!

Final score 16-7 to the Pythons with best players Kacey Baxter, Kordan Scott and Ebony Schonenberger.

The Intermediate comp played the SuperHeroes against Young Guns 1, the Heroes played well disciplined netball creating turnovers and kept the pressure on Guns 1, the Guns steadied to take the game 23-8 with best players Taylor Jeffs, Kyah Francis and Loukia Aston-Boyle.

Young Guns 2 played the 12 Reps, the Reps are a great team with a very strong mid court, the Guns put in a great effort.

The Reps won the day 16-11 with best players Lily Davis, Koreena Minniecon and Leah Nash.

The Senior comp  played Young Guns 1 against the RingIns.

The game was close but the Guns with the help of a strong 3rd quarter took the game 33-28 with best & fairest Bonnie Francis.

Port Power played the Bluebirds, the Power are looking like the team to beat coming into finals they took the game 32-23.

The Gunnars played Spot On in a friendly game, the Gunnars were too strong on the night 27-11 with best and fairest Chani Cardwell.

Crocs 2 played Rattle n Hum 2 in a well spitited contest both teams played a clean and competitive game Rattle got over the line 37-33 with best & fairest Faith Kempster.  

Division 1 played the Cougars against Rattle n Hum 1,  by the first quarter both teams were 7 goals each the Cougars played an excellent 2nd and last quarter to take the game 45-24 with best & fairest Nichelle Pitt.

Dynamite played Crocs 1, the Crocs experience kept Dynamite under pressure from the first siren, despite a great effort.

The Crocs won 52-21 with best & fairest Kate Cooper.

Douglas Netball is hosting the 12 & 14/Under Representative Carnival this Sunday starting at 930am.

Cairns and regional clubs have nominated their best teams to play off for the best team in the region in each age group.

On the 24th August Douglas will host its annual club carnival, teams from Cairms and the Tablelands attend on the day in age groups from 10/u to 18/u  come along and enjoy a great day of netball there will be a full canteen serving breakfast, snacks and lunch.
