On-court action at Douglas Netball Association

Douglas Netball Association saw some excellent play over the weekend across all grades.
Juniors:
Douglas Junior Netball started Round 6 with the 10/Under competition on Court 1 with Pink Lightning playing the Young Comets.
Pink Lightening team started strongly, shooting two goals to one and continued to play well against the Young Comets, who defended well causing lots of tunovers.
Final score was 3-1 with Mercedes Ramsey, Lani Dickson and Michela Nesbitt named as best players.
The Little Saints played the Young Stars in a very well contested game with plenty of attacking plays by both teams.
Final score 3-0 to the Stars, with best players Jade Shearer and Sofia Cullen.
The 12/Under Young Gems played Fast Motion, with the Gems coming out to play taking the game 10-0.
Fast Motion competed well with some great defensive plays but just couldn't get the goals in.
Best players were Courtney Geddes and Ella Cairns.
The Young Sapphires played the Pythons with the Pythons immediately showing their experience on court.
It was a great game by the Sapphires, who were not intimidated by the Pythons' experience and played well.
Best player was Jenna Kerswell.
Thanks to our Junior Umpires Jay Heidke, Mckenzie Booth, Charlotte Dowling, Hannah Durie, Lauryn Sciacca, Piper Adams, Loukita Aston-Boyle and Tiah McLean.
Intermediate:
The Intermediate competition saw Young Guns 1 play Young Guns 2 with both teams short some players due to school camp.
Guns 1 were least affected as Guns 2 brought up some 12/Under players to fill vacancies.
Thanks to Taleisha Carswell and Charlotte Kilpatrick for playing up.
Final score 30-2 to Guns 1 with best players Sasha Lowenstein-Jones, Samaria Denman and Kourtney Briggs.
On court 2 the SuperHeroes played the 12/Under rep team.
The game was fiercely contested with the 12 reps excelling on court but not able to get the goals in.
Final score 24-1 with best players Aleesha Viola, Hannah Durie and Jenna Kerswell.
Seniors:
The Senior competition saw Division 2 Port Power play Rattle n Hum 2.
Port Power outplayed the Rattle team shooting 36-15 wit Emily Phillips named as Best and Fairest.
The 14/Under Reps played Spot On with the the Reps quick around the court which eventually broke through Spot On's defence.
Final score was 28-10 the with the best & fairest player title going to Tiah McLean.
The Bluebirds played RingIns with the RingIns taking the game on from the first siren, scoring 46 goals to 21.
Alex Heidke was named Best and Fairest.
The Gunnars played and undermanned Crocs 2.
The Gunnars took full advantage of their oppostition's low numbers, shooting 32 to 14 with the best & fairest player going toElise McLaren.
Division 1:
The Divison 1 competition played the Cougars against the Young Jets, the game was fast and competitive with the experience of the Cougars taking them over the line 35-25.
Best & fairest went to Dale Duff.
Rattle N Hum 1 played Dynamite in a closely contested game the quick pace of Dynamite kept them right up to Rattle for the first half but the experience shone through with Rattle taking the game 36-29 with the best & fairest going to Marley Cairns.
