Just a reminder that this Wednesday at the Croc Pit we have the AFL Cairns All Stars taking on an Indigenous/Pacific squad kicking off at 7:30 pm.

The bar and canteen will be open and we will have a 200 club dinner at 8.15pm with all the Cairns presidents and officials attending.

I need volunteers to assist at the canteen and bar for the night.

This week we travel to South Cairns who are undefeated and this will give us a good insight into how far we have improved since our first meeting.

Over the years we have had former US President Bill Clinton arrive at the Croc Pit, the Olympic torch carried through the oval, netball played on it and last weekend we had FNQ Heat play soccer on our oval.

It was not the noisy crowd normally at the pit but we sold heaps through the canteen and the bar did OK.

I must give a special thanks to Caroline and Peter Jackson, Marta, Sam, Heff, Rob and John who worked for 11 hours in the canteen and bar.

I hope they can have a rest this Wednesday and some other people can step up to the plate.
