Police have charged four females with unlawful use of a motor vehicle after recovering a Cairns vehicle in Mossman last week. 

A Westcourt man was getting ready for work when police allege an offender gained entry to his residence through an unlocked door. 

The offender removed keys to a vehicle and then stole the vehicle that was parked in the driveway. 

The stolen vehicle was later recovered by police conducting patrols in Mossman.

Four females aged between 15 and 23-years old were apprehended and charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. 

The 23-year-old Cairns North woman was additionally charged with one count of unlicensed driving. 

Two women aged 23 and 22 are now due to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on May 30. 

A 15 and 16-year old will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
