Port Douglas Crocs under nines have ehibited their skill and passion for Aussie Rules in an exciting tussle at home against the Cairns Hawks at the weekend.
Jonte and Dargan provided excellent pressure all day.
Captain Charli was involved in a nice passage of play handballing to Hayden who kicked to Luke, resulting in one of the Crocs' best goals for the game.
The play exemplified the great teamwork and skills within the group.
Under eights fill in Lochlan Lane kicked the Crocs second goal of the day.
Crocs dynamic duo Jonte and Gus played hard and deadly during the second quarter with Ethan's fantastic smothering skills preventing a Hawks goal.
The Crocs got plenty of the ball but it was Hayden who capitalised, kicking the Crocs only goal for the quarter.
Despite no scoring shots for the Crocs in the third quarter, a high level of determination and pressure was applied by the team.
A strong sense of teamwork was present with all players.
The Crocs were desperate to help birthday boy Thomas score a goal before the game's end but the pressure applied from Cairns Hawks was too great.
That didn’t stop Thomas' determination to help Jonte and Charli kick the final two goals for the Crocs, earning himself the medal for player of the day.
Overall an exciting game of footy played reminiscent of the 1989 AFL Grand Final.
