Douglas Heat basketballer, Luke Hull, has been selected in the Mulgrave Basketball Association’s representative team to play in Mackay mid-December.

Hull was selected for the Mackay Magic under-14s rep squad, which will play against other North Queensland rep sides from Mackay, Townsville and Cairns Basketball Association in a two-day carnival on December 14 and 15.

His selection last week came after trials were held in Cairns over the past couple of months, and if he performs well in Mackay, could be selected for the state team which will play in Cairns next year.

Douglas Basketball Association president, Nick Gibson, said he was thrilled Luke was the first Heat player to be selected for representative duties since the Heat’s inception earlier this year.

“I’ve noticed Luke’s been pulling off some nice moves at Heat training lately,” Gibson said.

“He should go well.”
