From the parade on Friday night to the Pooch Party, the Family Beach Day, Savannah Sounds music festival, and all the other amazing events, Port Douglas Carnivale turned on the fun this year.

In the Macrossan Street Parade, Port Douglas State School was adjudged Best Overall float, Windswell Adventures and Sea Circus Productions took out Best Business, Port Douglas Surf Life Saving Club was named Best Community and Back Country Bliss Adventures won Best Eco-Themed. 

More than $20,000 was also raised for charity, with the Longest Lunch at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas raising $18,000 for charity KIND, which helps children in need, while the Pooch Party raised more than $3000 for the Paws & Claws animal shelter.

The Newsport photography team, including Byron Filmer, Stephanie Verreet, Jamie Jansen and Shaun Hollis was out and about all weekend.
