Locals and visitors are being encouraged to pre-register for Saturday’s Yalanji RAW 2025 Reconciliation Run.
The free community event celebrating unity, culture, and reconciliation at Mossman Gorge kicks off at 7am and features three distances: The 1km Deadly Dash, 2.5km Mighty Mossman Mile, and 5km Rainforest Run.
Pre-registering allows participants to arrive relaxed and ready to focus on the warm-up and enjoy the run or walk on the day, and you might also win a Yalanji RAW t-shirt or handball.
“It’s a great way to remember the day and show your support for reconciliation,” Douglas Shire Council Mayor Lisa Scomazzon says.
The event, supported by the Indigenous Marathon Foundation, is a highlight of Reconciliation Week.
Mossman State School is creating an art installation inspired by the Reconciliation Week theme “Bridging Now to Next”, with visitors being invited to take a photo in front of the bridge design during Saturday’s event.
You can join on the day, but pre-registering helps with planning.
