Tropical Regen project proving a winner in the Daintree

Charity group ClimateForce continues to work hard to preserve and protect the Far North’s two biggest assests – the Reef and the rainforest following a recent field awareness day in the Daintree.
Cook MP Cynthia Lui was on hand to learn about Tropical Regen – a rainforest regeneration scheme set upon 372 acres of overgrown farm in a section of the Daintree.
Climate Force, through Tropical Regen continues to work hard to develop and scale organic reforestation methodologies that are economically self-sustaining for ecology, communities and research.
“Ultimately, (we want) to return the landscape (in our regen project area) to its original setting,” an event spokesperson told Newsport.
“Tropical ReGen is using organic weed management and driving innovation in the regeneration sector with new techniques, technologies and data collection methods.”
The State’s local representative is eager to follow the project.
“The unwavering passion and drive of this team is evident,” Ms Lui told Newsport.
“Projects like these thrive on such spirit. I'm eager to follow their journey.”-
The initiative is enriched by its collaboration with the local Kuku Yalanji community and the First Nations rangers, Jabalbina.
