Share a cuppa, change a Life - LJ Hooker Port Douglas team driven to assist cancer prevention
COMMUNITY MINDED
Contributor Article
The LJ Hooker Port Douglas team is calling on the local community to come together in a few weeks' as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea celebrations.
Following the success of last year’s event, the team will once again transform Rotary Park into a garden tea party complete with a decadent high tea and a range of refreshments including tea, coffee, juice and mimosas - all with full table service.
Event coordinator, Annie Mitchell, said preparations were well underway but there were still a number of ways in which the community could get involved.
“For only $35 you can enjoy a morning of great local food and great company all for a great cause. Book a seat for yourself or get a group of friends together and book a table,” she said.
“We’ll also have raffles and an auction on the day so if you can’t make it to the morning tea but would still like to be involved you could consider donating vouchers or goods that we can use as prizes and auction items.
“There’s also our official fundraising page if you’d prefer to donate money and of course all proceeds raised on the day go directly to the Cancer Council."
This year’s event will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 10:00am to 12 noon. It will take place in Rotary Park on the corner of Macrossan and Grant Streets.

Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is a nationwide community event that raises vital funds to make a big difference for those impacted by cancer.
1 in 2 Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. We want to change that and we need your help to realise the dream of a cancer free future.
