Police furious after paramedic kicked in the face while trying to treat car crash occupant in Killaloe

A local paramedic just doing her job continues to nurse painful facial injuries after allegedly being kicked to the face while trying to treat a man involved in a car accident just days ago at Killaloe.
Newsport understands the female officer remains in some discomfort following the alleged incident, which occurred around 3am on Saturday morning.
A man in his early 20s, who moved to Port Douglas a short time ago has been spoken to by Police and is yet to be formally charged regarding the alleged assault on the ambulance driver.
It’s unclear whether the man was drunk or under the influence of illicit substances. He was later taken to hospital with minor injuries.
“This type of incident is simply not on,” Port Douglas Senior Sergeant and Officer-in-charge Damian Meadows reaffirmed to Newsport.
“The paramedic was simply doing her job, then, to experience something like that, from someone she was trying to treat - is extremely disappointing.
“We won’t tolerate behaviour like that from anyone – it’s not on – and it’s a reminder to anyone, that if you decide to hurt paramedic officers, for any reason, you will be dealt with by the full force of the law.”
