Local residents continue to get informed ahead of the upcoming indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum.
Members of the Uluru dialogue Alwyn Lyall and Eddie Synot held a community information session about the First Nations Voice for residents recently at the community hall in Port Douglas.
The event included a Q and A session and provided a chance for attendees to talk about the ‘Voice’ in a welcome and inclusive environment.
“Members of the local community had the opportunity to learn and ask questions about the Voice from one of the leading voices behind the yes campaign,” an event spokesperson told Newsport.
“The information sessions are part of the Uluru Dialogue’s ongoing commitment to raising awareness of the coming referendum for a First Nations Voice at a grassroots level and follow market stalls held in Cairns, Yungaburra and Mossman in recent weeks.
“Sessions will continue to run in the leadup to the referendum later this year.”
