Grim discovery as human remains found inside crocodile in search for missing Laura man
SAD DEVELOPMENT

Queensland Police will now prepare a report for the coroner after human remains were found inside one of the two crocodiles captured and killed by Department of Environment and Science (DES) wildlife officers just a short time ago.
Police believe the remains are those of a 65-year-old Laura man who went missing while fishing near Kennedy Bend camping area on the Kennedy River at Lakefield National Park on Saturday afternoon.
Officers said the two crocodiles (4.1m and 2.8m), thought involved in the incident, were discovered upstream from his last known location.
DES confirmed that under the Queensland Crocodile Management Plan, “problem crocodiles are removed from the wild”.
Brisbane dive squad members, SES personnel, the rescue helicopter and DES officers all took part in the search for the missing man.
