“The King is back” declares the voiceover on a video showing the much loved, iconic Far North crocodile ‘Scarface’ gracefully floating along the side of a creek in the Daintree River.

And with that breaking news from one of the World’s oldest rainforests, thousands of followers of the 70-year-old croc in Australia and overseas are breathing sighs of relief and celebrating his return, after he was not spotted for over a month.

After Newsport reported the widespread concerns about Scarface going missing, the story gained international interest, including from renowned magazine Newsweek. 

“Scarface, if you can hear this, people from around the world are clapping, sending messages, thankyou everybody,” David White, owner of Solar Whisper Daintree River Crocodile and Wildlife says on the video showing the legendary crocodile slowly swimming along the creek.

“Nothing nasty’s happened, he’s just been having a little break from the paparazzi,” Mr White quips.
“He’s been right up in a tiny little creek where we couldn’t get to him.”

The estimated 4.7-metre Scarface’s disappearance had hundreds of followers on social media fearing the worst and sending messages of support in the hope he would be found alive.

Mr White said he had been out past midnight looking for the big “boss” croc for at least two weeks since he went missing.
