TOUCHING GESTURE: Local hero sacrifices 10-year dreadlock

After a decade of proudly growing his dreadlocks, Clancy, a staff member at the Port Douglas Bike Shop, bid farewell to his iconic hairstyle in support of someone dear to him battling leukaemia.
Upon learning about a family member of the Bike Shop team who had been diagnosed with the life threatening disease, Clancy was deeply moved.
“When local business partners to the Bike Shop and supportive friends found out about the news they immediately put their hand in their pockets to assist.
“The money raised will assist with the medical bills that have been lumped on the patient as an added expense when he was not able to go to work.”
When asked about how it felt to part ways with his beloved dreadlocks, Clancy answered he was happy that there was a good enough reason to chop them off.
