Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas has reopened the Lumholtz's tree kangaroo exhibit, home to the lively and adorable tree kangaroo named 'Quinton'.

Thanks to the unwavering dedication and passion of the international volunteers who participated in Wildlife Habitat’s volunteer program, the enclosure has been transformed into a vibrant and enriching environment for 'Quinton', offering him greater opportunities to thrive and explore.

With the guidance from Rabecca Lynch, The CaPTA Group wildlife manager, and Adam West, Wildlife Habitat maintenance manager, the volunteers invested an immense amount of dedication and effort into the project, ensuring an enriching and stimulating environment for 'Quinton'.

Quinton's new exhibit features a diverse selection of tree species, providing him with a range of perching opportunities that challenge and enhance his muscle strength and balance. The branches in the exhibit bend, flex, sway, and swing, creating an engaging and stimulating environment.

"The move to this new exhibit will greatly benefit Quinton's health and well-being," Ms Lynch explained.

"With access to two exhibits, Quinton now has the freedom to choose where he spends his time, making his daily life more engaging and enjoyable.

"The increased space and enriching experiences available in the new facility will promote his physical and mental stimulation, encouraging natural behaviours and offering exciting new sensations."

The collaboration between Wildlife Habitat and the international volunteers exemplifies the power of passion and commitment to wildlife conservation.
