Search teams determined as ever to locate missing woman

The bid to locate a female swimmer missing in Mossman Gorge waters since last Friday afternoon continues this morning.
While efforts are now focused on a recovery mission Queensland Police told Newsport moments ago that SES personnel, Police divers and national park officials are on scene and currently searching the water and banks for the missing 54 year-old woman.
Police admitted yesterday they fear the worst for the missing woman.
“She was seen being submerged under a rock from an observation platform near the river (just before 2pm last Friday) and has not resurfaced as far as we are aware,” Smithfield Senior Sergeant Ed Lukin told Newsport.
“Information from traditional owners and the dive squad and the swift water rescue is that there are a number of caverns in that area, quite deep, metres deep… that couldn’t be searched due to the surge of the water...
“We would like to think of the missing person as one of our family and that all efforts of our team would have to be completely exhausted before we would look at stopping the search.”
