Growing speculation Toyah accused days away from FNQ return

Queensland detectives have reportedly travelled to India hoping that when they return, they will have in their custody Rajwinder Singh – the suspect in the murder of Toyah Cordingley.
An Indian court gave the all-clear for Singh’s extradition in January and now it’s believed the Indian government has also agreed to the extradition.
“We can confirm that on 24 January 2023 an Indian court recommended Mr Singh be surrendered to Australia,” a spokesperson for Australia’s Attorney-General’s department said in a brief exclusive statement to Newsport today.
TV news reports locally have said Queensland detectives flew to India overnight, and it might only be a few days before they return with Singh.
After formally waiving his right to challenge extradition, Singh recently denied the murder – saying he wanted to return to Australia to face trial and “reveal all the details” to an Australian court.
Asked earlier last month why he had fled the country after the alleged murder of Toyah in 2018, Singh, 38, replied: “I will explain all that,” adding “there were two killers and two victims.”
But Queensland police have maintained Singh is the sole suspect.
