WITHIN REACH: Crocs edge closer to Minor Premiership after brilliant four quarter effort against Saints

The Port Douglas Crocs have jumped two games clear at the top of the AFL Cairns ladder and within reach of a hard-earned minor premiership following a solid, four quarter performance against nemesis Cairns Saints at a windy Griffiths Park this afternoon.
This afternoon’s 94-35 winning result, an eventual final margin of 59 points – was the Crocs first in three attempts this season against the Saints - sees them move to 44 points, two wins ahead of today’s opponent with games remaining against the Cutters, Hawks and Lions to wrap up the regular home and away season.
The Crocs have been irrepressible under new coach Jared Petrenko having only dropped a few games to date on the way to being ladder leaders.
In a stunning effort the Crocs kept Saints goalless to lead 33-7 at the main break and 55-15 by three quarter time before eventually wrapping up the contest 94-35.
The Crocs tackle the Cutters next week in round 16 action at Fretwell Park.
