In a heartbreaking development Police have confirmed a 28-year-old man has died as a result of the injuries he suffered in relation to an incident involving a car on Tuesday night near Mossman.
The male pedestrian had since remained in a critical condition in Cairns Hospital after an alleged collision with a Toyota Rav4 within Bill Reese Park, close to a rest area.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing into the matter.
