LONE BONE: Mystery intensifies as Police lean towards Four Mile beach bone being human

The mystery behind the discovery of a lone bone found washed ashore just days ago on Four Mile beach at Port Douglas has only intensified with local Police leaning towards the odd find being potentially that from a human being.
Further examination and tests expected to be conducted this week will determine if the bone is indeed, from either a human, or animal.
“The bone is believed to be from the lower leg of a human, however (it) is currently subject (to) further examination / testing,” reliving Port Douglas Officer-in-Charge and acting Sergeant Ben Tome confirmed with Newsport.
Just days ago local beach goers and tourists alike were stunned when SES workers and others were seen combing the sand at Four Mile beach for any further bone material on the morning of Saturday, July, 29.
“In regard to that search at Four Mile (beach) (on Saturday, July 29) - two searches were conducted on the southern end of the Beach,” Sgt Tome explained.
“These searches included Police and SES volunteers conducting line searches, RPAS (drone) operations and mobile patrols.
“Nothing of interest was located (during those consequent searches).”
