CARNIVALE FUTURE
Future Port Douglas Carnivale events might be revamped after an upcoming feedback session organised in Port Douglas.
Following the latest event in May this year, Newsport published a story about what the public and experienced Carnivale-goers thought about the festival and whether it remained ‘iconic’.
We also ran a poll on social media asking in the opinions of readers, had Carnivale “lost its lustre and needs improvement or does the festival, in general, remain as good as it's ever been?”
The results of that online survey showed 81 per cent of readers, or 154 people voted yes to Carnivale needing improvement and of the event “feeling tired” this year. Nineteen per cent – 37 people – voted no, and were happy with Carnivale as it was.
Some of the opinions gathered from Carnivale 2023 may very well be put to a session in Port Douglas later this month.
‘Do It In Douglas’ – a partnership between Tourism Port Douglas Daintree, Douglas Shire Council and the Douglas Chamber of Commerce – is organising the event:
“Calling all local businesses to help shape the future of Port Douglas Carnivale!” a post on Do It In Douglas’s Facebook page says.
“This feedback session will be facilitated by Marketing Strategist, Mark Cox from Cox Creative. Bring your ideas, your inspiration and your feedback, and we'll cover the breakfast treats!”
