Four Mile beach bone potentially linked to grandmother taken by crocodile at Port Douglas in 2017

There is mounting speculation a bone discovered washed up on Four Mile beach in recent weeks may potentially be the further remains of a much-loved grandmother who heartbreakingly disappeared from a OzCare facility near Port Douglas in late 2017.
Anne Cameron, who was aged 79 at the time, went missing from the facility after taking a walk in mid-October that year.
An ensuing search led Police to locate the partial remains of Ms Cameron in the vicinity of the Mowbray river inside a 4.3 metre crocodile, which was later euthanised.
Ms Cameron’s walking stick and some of her clothing was located near Craiglie Creek during the search.
“Yes, (the) bone has been determined to be a human left femur (leg) bone,” Port Douglas Officer-in-Charge and acting Sergeant Ben Tome confirmed with Newsport.
“The bone has been sent to the Forensic laboratory for DNA testing. The results of this DNA test is likely to take quite some time.”
More than 10 SES volunteers combed Four Mile beach just weeks’ ago in a bid to locate “further evidence” after the discovery of a bone at the beach.
