VIDEO: Tourists watch on as good samaritans help release gummy shark in Port Douglas

A man enjoying a quiet fish on Easter Monday near the wharf behind St Mary’s By the Sea church got a massive surprise when he soon realised he had landed more than just your average catch.
As the catch moved closer the man got the surprise of his life when a large gummy shark appeared from the water.
Needing assistance two legends quickly jumped in and helped ensure a happy outcome for all involved.
In a video taken by Sydney tourist Jodie Weber, the two respectful good samaritans are seen wrestling the heavy shark into the shore.
Moments later, after flipping it over and removing a lure the pair are seen rolling the shark back over and again, determinedly wrestling the extremely heavy shark back into deeper water before it happily swims away.
“Last night we were about to take photos of the beautiful sunset when we came across a fisherman who had caught a shark,” Ms Weber explained to Newsport.
“(The) two young men rescued the shark and cut the line and set it free.
“Well done guys for jumping in and acting quickly.”
