Police, SES and the Rescue 510 helicopter continue to conduct a search and rescue mission for a man who disappeared yesterday while fishing near the Kennedy River at Lakefield National Park.

Emergency services were called to Kennedy Bend camping area around 3.30pm after unconfirmed reports a 65-year-old Laura man was attacked and taken by a crocodile.

“The search commenced yesterday evening and recommenced at first light this morning,” a Police spokesperson told Newsport.

“Department of Environment and Science (DES) Wildlife Officers are assisting with the search.”
