BREAKING NEWS: Helicopter on scene as man treated for 'head, leg and abdominal injuries' following Crocodile attack

A 44 year-old man attacked and bitten three times by a 4.4 metre crocodile while spear fishing earlier this afternoon at Archer Point near Cooktown remains in a stable condition in Cairns Hospital.
The man told paramedics he was able to escape the crocodile in the water by eye gouging it as it was about to perform a death roll.
The man suffered deep cuts and several fractures following the incident.

A man in his 40s is in a "serious condition" and being treated for lacerations to his shoulders and legs following a crocodile attack about an hour ago at Archer Point, near Cooktown.

A rescue helicopter is trying to winch paramedics down to assist a man in his 40s following reports of a crocodile attack just moments ago at Archer Point.
A QAS spokesperson told Newsport just minutes ago that the male has suspected “head, abdominal and leg injuries" and that his current condition is unknown at this point.
A helicopter is currently on scene trying to get paramedics down to his exact location in order to assist him.
Archer Point is a popular camping location, situated near Cooktown, in Far North Queensland.
Flight Paramedic Val Hurlbatt is due to address the media about today's Archer Point crocodile attack in 15 minutes time (3.30pm) at Cairns Hospital.
