13 year-old to face court after alleged good samaritan stabbing on bus

A 13-year-old Bentley Park teenager has been refused bail and will face the Children’s court in relation to an alleged stabbing on a bus a short time ago in Cairns’ city centre.
At around 6pm yesterday Police allege a good samaritan stopped an argument between two teenagers and a bus driver while the bus was at a stop on Lake St.
Moments later after taking his seat the 26 year-old man was then approached by the two teens, before Police allege one of the juveniles proceeded to stab him in the stomach.
The teenagers then bolted following the incident and a short time later were tracked by the Dogs squad hiding at a Parramatta park residence.
The 26-year-old male was taken to Cairns Hospital for treatment of a minor laceration and was soon released.
The 13-year-old Bentley Park teenager was charged with one count each of wounding and common assault.
