Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas has rolled out a more interactive, exclusive and immersive Breakfast with the Birds experience and if recent feedback is anything to go by the new and improved version is wowing the masses.
“It has the same name but what we’re offering now with our Breakfast with the Birds is literally a whole new experience,” Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas assistant manager Sybella Salter explained to Newsport.
“Before it was the type of thing where we provided a big open buffet type of breakfast and anyone could just walk in and do it on the day.
“Then at the end of breakfast, guests get time in with the koalas. There’s a new area that’s been built in the park and breakfast is now situated near that area.
“Our keepers will take you in and you get your own personal time feeding a koala and to personally chat with our keepers.
“Our ongoing mission at the park is about providing real, one-on-one immersive experiences and this specific experience provides that opportunity.”
Married Victorian holiday makers Andrew and Jackie Constantine loved what they saw.
“We’re both animal lovers and this is something different to do while on holidays the couple explained as they enjoyed their breakfast at the Wildlife Habitat.
“The Breakfast with the Birds experience is something you don’t really get to do anywhere else in the country, so it’s one of those items you want to tick off.
“I didn’t think we’d be able to get so close to all of the different birds, but to have them surround us as we ate was a really intimate and fun experience.”
On top of their updated experiences the park also recently enjoyed some interesting attendees which gave the facility some positive, money can’t buy promotion and publicity.
“Yes, that’s true, we did have Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom here a few weeks’ ago, they were lovely and were taken on a private tour around the park,” Ms Salter said.
“They did comment how much they enjoyed it, particularly the opportunity to cuddle a koala.”
