The Douglas Grass and Roots volunteer network is up and running after a recent launch and information evening.
Throughout the night the group discussed their initial goals, plans and timeline of future events.
More broadly the local group has been created to connect and empower local volunteers.
“Following on from the launch, a volunteer expo morning will be held in the coming weeks in Mossman,” group co-ordinator Tanya Morris said.
“It will be a chance to showcase our local volunteer organisations and highlight the many types of volunteer opportunities available in our community to volunteer.
“This event will include volunteer organisation stalls, live entertainment, and we're looking forward to a bit of friendly competition with games and challenges for the attendees throughout the day.”
