Mossman police are investigating a hit and run traffic crash between a motorbike and bicycle that occurred on Foxton Avenue at Mossman at around 2.30pm on September 11.

A bicycle rider sustained significant injuries after a northbound motorbike rider was riding dangerously on the footpath.

The motorbike rider placed his bike into a wheelie position riding with only the rear wheel on the footpath.

The motorbike collided with the cyclist, knocking him from his bicycle, before riding over the top of the cyclist.

The motorbike rider then fled the scene at speed.

The motorbike is described as being blue and white in colour and possibly a Yamaha off-road motorbike or similar.

Meantime, local Police are continuing to conduct both air and foot searches for 36 year-old Juliana Castrillon who has gone missing in recent days after hiking the Home Rule hiking track near Cedar Bay.

Anyone with information about Juliana's whereabouts are urged to contact Crimestoppers on the number above.

UPDATE: Local Police have confirmed that the missing 36 year-old woman has been found this afternoon by members of an SES search team. The woman is alive and is currently in the care of the team.
