Crocs punish Doggies' to advance to preliminary final

BRILLIANT PERFORMANCE

Port Douglas has put on a powerhouse display thumping favourites Centrals Trinity Bulldogs by 80 points this afternoon to advance to next week’s preliminary final against Cairns Saints.
The Crocs were irrepressible all day, with Nic Salter completely dominate up front kicking five goals while Josh Mawson was electric all over the ground.
The match was effectively over at halftime, as the Crocs enjoyed a 64-point, 88-24 lead by the main break.
From there they did as they pleased to eventually win 19-17-131 to 7-9-51.
From there, the likes of Salter, Ed Morris, Brandon Kilty, Kalan Huntly and Chris Colombo each took turns kicking goals to put the visitors in a solid position leading into half time.
Crucially, Gav Jacks did a brilliant defensive job on Lachie Rhook, the dangerous target unable to get off the chain throughout the day.
It was an emphatic display by Brad Cooper’s men, and most likely their best performance of the season.
Port’s attacking pressure, combined with an organised defensive approach simply proved too much for the Doggies.
The Crocs attention now turns to the Saints who proved no match for the Lions in their major semi-final.
